More information about Sin City 2

Posted by: on March 18, 2013 | Comments (0) | Category: Interview , Movie , News

During the festival SxSW, Joe talked to ComingSoon.net and gave us some more information about their participation in Sin City 2 and his experience in filming. The scenes of him have been recorded thanks to the unique style of recording director Robert Rodriguez. For those not familiar with his work during the first film most actors who shared scenes together, recorded separately set through the technique of "chroma key". It was the same in the second.

Looking back, Joe plays a new character named Jonny segment "The Long Bad Night", which was not based on any of the existing copies of comics. Read below what Joe said:

That's interesting. They wanted a movie that fans of the comic could still look for something new and unexpected, so they added a story. I remember being very intrigued by it and I was expecting something like, 'Oh, it would be very interesting to have the comics for me as an actor based', but I did not. I loved doing the movie. I mean, Robert Rodriguez is a guy whose movies I have liked for a long time and he's overflowing creativity.

Joe also mentioned that even Jonny being a new character and a new story, your character is present in the world of Sin City and acts with other characters.

I saw Bruce and Mickey (Rourke), and we have a scene together, and Jessica Alba. I was so excited!

Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For premiere October 4th in the U.S..

Joe explains change of title in his film

Posted by: on March 8th, 2013 | Comments (0) | Category: Don Jon's Addiction , Joe , News

During this week, we published about a possible title change in the film which debuted as director Joe. Don Jon's Addiction changed to a shorter version: Don Jon. Joe posted a text on your Facebook confirming this suspicion and further explaining his reasons for the change. Below is the translation:

As you may have heard, I wrote and directed a movie last year and it is being launched this year. What is completely crazy and I still can not believe. Anyway, I'm posting this to let everyone know that I'm changing the title. Now called "DON JON". I decided to change, first of all, because Don Jon is short and simple, and if you know me, you know I like simplicity. Second, it seemed to me that the old title "Don Jon's Addiction" was passing people some of the subject of the film. People were assuming that it was a film about sex addiction and pornography, which is nothing really. Say it would be like saying "The Maltese Falcon" (title in Brazil, 'Maltese Falcon') is a film about the statue of a falcon. Don Jon is a comedy about how men and women treat each other, and how the media we consume can create unrealistic expectations we place on others. That's why the story is set around a relationship between a young man (played by me) who watch too much porn and a young woman (played by Scarlett) who attends many romantic comedies. It is a topic that I personally find fascinating and funny.

He also commented on the end of it all that production for the trailer is starting now and soon more will be disclosed. We'll be waiting!
